The Yurt Snowshoe is an 11.9-mile, out-and-back trail located within the Tahoma State Forest near Mineral, WA. A moderately trafficked trail, the Yurt Snowshoe Trail is primarily used for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Hikers can access the trail at any time of the year. Plants that are quite common along the trail include almonds and cedars. Hikers may also spot marmots and mountain goats from time to time. From the highest sections of the Yurt Snowshoe Trail, hikers will get to enjoy scenic views of Mount Tahoma, Mount Griffin and Mount Rainier. While dogs can access the trail, they should always be on a leash. A Snow-Parks permit is required to access the Yurt Snowshoe trail.
