West Ledge Trail is a well-marked, 1.8–mile, moderately trafficked, out-and-back trail that climbs up Bernard Mountain near Seal Cove, Maine. The trail has an elevation gain of 764 feet and is rated intermediate. The West Ledge Trail is not recommended for kids and dogs due to the open rock ledges present on the trail. The trail is accessible any time of the day from May until October for hiking, trail running, and nature trips. Ascending through the vintage Acadia forest, the trail offers its users a chance to view wildlife, and at the summit, the entire Atlantic Ocean, and the western side of Mt. Desert Island.
