A moderately trafficked out-and-back, the Jack Mountain Trail is located in Marblemount, Washington. Rated difficult, the Jack Mountain Trail is a great challenge for the most experienced hikers. Because the Jack mountain trail entails exposed climbing, hikers should remember to carry trekking poles and snowshoes. A seasonal trail, the Jack Mountain Trail is best used from April to October. While children are not allowed on the Jack Mountain Trail, leashed dogs are. No fees are required to access the trailhead; however, a camping permit can be purchased at the ranger's office. Drinking water may be obtained from the river, however, hikers should filter the water first before consumption.
