The Hidden Lake trail is a highly trafficked 8-mile, out-and-back trail located within the Northern Cascades National Park. A highly trafficked trail, the Hidden Lake trail is not ideal for inexperienced hikers and children. Because of its strenuous terrain, the Hidden Lake trail is rated difficult. Hiking on the Hidden Lake Trail takes hikers through open meadows dominated by blossoms, alpine vegetation, glacier lilies, and a variety of wildflowers. Slippery tree roots, boulders, and loose rocks also define a large part of this trail. While no parking fees or access fee is needed to access this trail, hikers who intend to camp on this trail should obtain a background permit at the trailhead. Leashed dogs are welcome. Campers should refrain from camping along the shores as the landscape is quite fragile.
