The Happy Panther Trail is a 12.5-mile, lightly trafficked, out-and-back trail featuring a brilliantly blue lake and is suitable for people of all skill levels. A seasonal trail, the Happy Panther Trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from March to November. Hiking on the Happy Panther Trail presents hikers with the opportunity of enjoying a wide range of features such as broad and uncut meadows as well as pristine forest ecosystems. While no fee is needed to access the trail, hikers must obtain a permit prior to camping on the Happy Panther Trail. Leashed dogs are allowed on this trail. Hikers may obtain drinking water directly from the lakes and rivers on the Happy Panther Trail, but be sure to filter water before consumption.
