Originally developed to service a fire lookout site within the Goode Ridge, the Goode Ridge Trail eventually became a popular destination for local and visiting hikers. Stretching for about 10 miles, the Goode Ridge Trail is an out-and-back trail located within the larger North Cascades National Park. Rated difficult, the Goode Ridge Trail offers breathtaking views of Mt. Hemlock, Stehekin Valley, Glacier Peak wilderness, and McGregor Mountain. Vegetations found along this trail include huckleberries and a variety of wildflowers. A moderately trafficked trail, the Goode Ridge Trail is not ideal for children. On top of that, dogs are not allowed on the Goode Ridge Trail. While no parking pass is needed at the trailhead, anyone who intends on camping at the Goode Ridge Trail must obtain a backcountry permit at the ranger station. Hikers should carry plenty of water while visiting the Goode Ridge Trail since it’s totally dry by summer.
