The Glacier Basin Trail is a 6.5-mile, out-and-back trail located within the Mount Rainier National Park. A moderately trafficked trail, the Glacier Basin Trail is mostly used for backpacking, hiking, nature walks, skiing, walking and bird viewing. Being a seasonal trail, the Glacier Basin Trail is mostly used from March to October. Ferns and lichens dominate a bigger section of the Glacier Basin trail. From the highest sections of the Glacier Basin Trail, hikers will be rewarded with scenic views of Mount Rainier National Park, Emmons Glacier, and the White River. Dogs are not allowed on the Glacier Basin Trail. Hikers should always carry water when visiting the trail. A National Park Pass is needed to access the Glacier Basin Trail.
