Located within the Mount Rainier Area, the Bench and Snow Lakes Trail is a 2.5-mile, heavily trafficked, out-and-back trail. Rated moderate, the Bench and Snow Lakes Trail is mainly used for walking, running, bird viewing and hiking. Being a seasonal trail, the Bench and Snow Lakes Trail is best used from July to September. Plants found along the Bench and Snow Lakes Trail include alpine, blueberries and huckleberries. A National Park Pass is required to access the Bench and Snow Lakes Trail. From the highest point of the trail, hikers will get to enjoy scenic views of the Mount Rainier National Park, Snow Lake as well as the magnificent Bench Lake. Hikers pass through Snow Lake Camp and Green Trails in their way to the trail. Dogs on leash are allowed on the Bench and Snow lake Trail. Hikers should always carry plenty of drinking water when visiting the trail.
