Located within the Mount Rainier Area near Paradise Inn, the Van Trump Park is a 6-mile out-and-back trail. A moderately trafficked trail, the Van Trump Trail is mainly used for hiking, walking and nature walks. Accessible throughout the year, the trail is home to a variety of indigenous plant species such as alpines and pine. Deer and bears are also quite common along the trail. From the highest sections of the Van Trump Park Trail, hikers will get scenic views of the Boucher Falls, Comet Falls, Katz Creek Valley and Mount Rainier. A National Park Pass is needed to access the trail. While dogs are allowed on the Van Trump Park trail, they should always be on a leash.
