The Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail is a 2.17-mile-long heavily trafficked trail in Stone Mountain that graces its visitors with beautiful views of wildflowers, wildlife and forest. The main use of the trail is hiking and nature walks though hikers on this trail get to climb rocks and learn from a historical site located in the trail. With an elevation gain of 567.5 feet, the out-and-back trail is rated as moderate. The trail is kid friendly, but dogs are not allowed. Hikers using the Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail are recommended to carry drinking water, although water is available at the top of the trail near the washrooms. It takes about two to three hours to hike this trail. Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail is accessible all year.
