The Steam Hoist trail is a 0.6-miles, loop trail found within the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildman Park. A moderately trafficked trail, the Steam Hoist Trail is best used for hiking, running, nature walks, walking and bird viewing. Accessible throughout the year, the Steam Hoist Trail is suitable for both children and inexperienced hikers. Trillium, maples, and foam flower dominate a bigger section of the Steam Hoist Trail. From the highest point of the trail, hikers have a view of the Cougar Peaks and Cave Holes. While hiking on this trail, hikers will get to view the concrete pillars that belonged to the mine's steam hoist. While dogs can access this trail, they should always be on a leash. Hikers should remember to carry plenty of drinking water.
