The Slunger Creek Nature Trail at Lake Catherine State Park is great for every member of the family and is even wheelchair accessible. The trail is barrier-free and complies with ADA guidelines. The family dogs are also welcomed, but must remained leashed while in the state park. The paved loop trail is just over 1/2 mile in length and only has an elevation gain of 16 feet. Stop and enjoy the view with a break on one of the trail's benches and listen to the creek water flow over the creek.
While you won't get a water view of the lake, the entire trail runs predominantly along Slunger Creek. If you visit the trail in April or May, don't be surprised to see prom photos being taken there. Known for it's easy access and Spring wildflowers, it is a popular location for photo shoots. Parking is available at the trailhead, which is near the entrance of the park.
