The Sam Willey Trail is a moderately trafficked, out-and-back trail that is rated advanced in terms of difficulty. It takes about five hours to hike the 4.78-mile-long trail that has an elevation gain of 2,828 feet. The Sam Willy Trail is dog-friendly and although kids are allowed, it is not recommended to bring kids along since it is strenuous. The trail is open from March all through to October.
