The Red Gap Pass Trail is a strenuous rated trail used or various leisure activities like backpacking, hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, nature trips, and birding. The out-and-back trail is lightly trafficked and it is not friendly for kids. Dogs are not permitted on the Red Gap Pass Trail but horses are allowed. The Red Gap Trail is accessible all year but it is at its best from May to September. The trail has a spectacular beach, waterfall, river, and a lake. The Flora of the Red Gap Pass Trail comprises of meadows flowers and alpine plants. The megafauna includes grizzlies, elks, mountain goats, squirrels, pikas, marmots, and chipmunks. There are several birds on Red Gap Pass Trail like boreal, chickadees, Clark's nutcrackers, warblers, and waterfowls. The 15-mile-long trail has an elevation gain of 5,866 feet.
