The Red Eagle Trail is a lightly trafficked out-and-back trail with 1,148 feet of elevation gain. It is primarily used for hiking, walking, camping, and backpacking. It takes an estimate of about 10 hours to hike the 13.4 mile-long trail. The Red Eagle Trail is rated moderate in terms of difficulty. There are no drinking water points or restrooms on Red Eagle but they can be found on the nearby campsites. The flora of Red Eagle Trail comprises of lupine, arrowleaf balsamroot, geraniums, fireweed, and hollyhocks. The fauna on the other hand is made up of moose, elks, and bears. For this reason, users of Red Eagle Trail are advised to carry a can of bear spray. There are several birds on Red Eagle Trail like warblers, woodpeckers, chickadees, hawks, waterfowls, and wrens. The Red Eagle Trail is open throughout the year.
