Purple Trail is a well-marked, lightly trafficked, 6-mile trail located near Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. With an elevation gain of 1,500 feet, this intermediate trail is family friendly. Enjoy hiking, nature walks and, camping, and bird watching on the trail. The Purple Mountain Trail is a fully natural trail with panoramic views of the Gibbon and Madison rivers, and opening up to the summit of the breathtaking Purple Mountain. No pets are allowed on the trail which can be accessed any time of the day in summer and fall. Remember to bring enough drinking water and snacks.
