The North Mountain Lookout Trail is a 2.5-mile, heavily trafficked, out-and-back trail located a few miles from Darlington, Washington. An all-season trail, the North Mountain Lookout Trail is suitable for both children and inexperienced hikers. A variety of flora and fauna including butterflies, grouse and blackberries can be found on the North Mountain Lookout Trail. At the highest section of the trail, hikers will get to access a 41-foot timber lookout tower that offers hikers scenic views of Mount Baker, White Chuck Mountain, Sloan Peak, and many other Northern Cascades peaks. While Dogs can access this trail, they should always be on a leash. Hikers should remember to carry plenty of drinking water.
