The Mount Pilchuck Trail is a 6-mile, out-and-back trail located within the Mount Pilchuck State Park. A seasonal trail, the Mount Pilchuck Trail is best used from June to October. Because of its rocky and strenuous terrain, the Mount Pilchuck Trail is a great challenge for the most experienced hikers. Since a bigger section of this trail is covered in snow, hiking poles and gaiters will always come in handy. A fire lookout that is available at the topmost section of the Mount Pilchuck Trail offers scenic views of the surrounding environment including the glaciated Mount Baker, Puget Sound, and the colossal Mount Rainier. While dogs can access the Mount Pilchuck Trail, they should always be on a leash. Hikers should remember to carry plenty of drinking water.
