The Mount Finlayson Trail is a 3.6-mile, lightly trafficked loop trail located within the San Juan Islands region. The Mount Finlayson Trail is accessible year-round and commonly used for running, walking, hiking, and nature walks. Towering trees and ferns dominate the second section of the Mount Finlayson Trail. During summer, orange honeysuckle and wild roses emerge from the ground to add to the aesthetics and beauty of the trail. While hiking on the Mount Finlayson Trail, hikers might encounter eagles, foxes, deer, butterflies, and ladybugs on the grass. From the highest sections of the trail, hikers will get to enjoy immersive views of Mount Baker, Lopez Island, Olympics, and Strait of Juan de Fuca. Leashed dogs are permitted.
