The Mount Baring Trail is a 7-mile, out-and-back trail located within the Wild Sky Wilderness and is rated difficult. A lightly trafficked trail, the Mount Baring Trail is mainly used for hiking, bird viewing and walking. Being a seasonal trail, the Mount Baring Trail is best used from April to October. At the highest sections of the Mount Baring Trail, hikers will get panoramic views of Seattle, Barclay Lake and all the small lakes found along the trail. Snowshoes and microspikes will come in handy when hiking the Mount Baring Trail. Anyone planning to visit the Mount Baring Trail should remember to carry plenty of drinking water. Dogs are permitted so long as they are leashed. Hikers will have to obtain a Northwest forest pass before accessing the Mount Baring trail.
