The Mokowanis Lake Trail is a kid-friendly, moderately trafficked, point-to-point trail used for hiking, camping, nature trips, and birding year round. The 1.4 mile-long trail includes a mixed surface and an elevation gain of 3,458 feet, giving it an intermediate rate in terms of difficulty. Dogs are not permitted. The trail is endowed with a river, a beautiful lake, a forest, and a magnificent waterfall. Flowers like arnica, spiraea, bear grass, and gentian grace this trail. Bears and moose are common on Mokowanis Lake Trail and hikers are advised to carry a bear spray. Waterfowls such as goldeneye are also common on the lake. Birds found on Mokowanis Lake Trail are mergansers and vesper sparrows.
