Located near Twisp, Washington, the Lookout Mountain Lookout-Methow Trail is a 2.6-mile, moderately trafficked, out-and-back trail. The Lookout Mountain Lookout-Methow Trail is mainly used for nature trips, walking and hiking. Because of the steep grade, the Lookout Mountain Lookout-Methow Trail is the perfect destination for hikers with intermediate skills. A plethora of indigenous wild plants such as larkspur, desert parsley, paintbrush, penstemon and balsamroots dominate a bigger section of this trail. At the highest section of the Lookout Mountain Lookout-Methow Trail, hikers will get to access a 60-foot-long old lookout that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks including the glaciated Hoodoo peak and the meandering Twisp River. While dogs can access this trail, they should always be on a leash. It is important to point out that there is no potable drinking water along this trail, hence hikers should remember to carry plenty of water.
