Located in Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest near Leavenworth, the Lake Valhalla trail is a 7-mile, out-and-back trail that is rated moderate. A heavily trafficked trail, the Lake Valhalla Trail offers a variety of activity options such as nature walks, walking, fishing, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and bird viewing. The Lake Valhalla Trail can be accessed throughout the year. Plants found along the Lake Valhalla Trail include Cusick’s speedwell and parsnips. Bears are among some of the wild animals found along the Lake Valhalla Trail. From the highest sections of the Lake Valhalla Trail, hikers will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Lichtenberg Mountain, Lake Valhalla, and Mount McCausland. While dogs are allowed on the Lake Valhalla Trail, they should always be on a leash. Hikers should remember to carry plenty of drinking water.
