A short and sweet trail to Hobart Bluff with numerous wildflowers in the springtime make the Hobart Bluff - Pacific Crest Trail one that offers the most beautiful scenery in the Rogue Valley. The first mile, starting at around 5280 ft. in elevation is on the Pacific Crest Trail, strolling through meadows and forests. The trail makes a very noticeable left turn diverging from the Pacific Crest Trail after about a mile in. The rest of the 0.5 mile of less-and-less forested trails takes you to Hobart Bluff. The views from this slender-treed bluff are some of the best in the valley.
The views looking north and west are very phenomenal and the light on some sunsets is exhilarating. Hobart Bluff is a huge formation of basaltic cliffs set atop a small lake. Although manageable, the climb up the back of Hobart is fairly vigorous. The meadows and the delicate rolling hills are sure to catch your eye while on this trail.
