Located on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, the Elk Mountain to Maiden Peak Trail is a 4.3-mile, moderately trafficked loop trail. This trail is the most exposed and an impressive traverse to hike in the area. This hike is quite scenic with diverse views of beautiful wildflowers, conifer forest, snow, and wildlife. Elk Mountain to Maiden Peak trail is suitable for hiking, walking, nature trips, and trail running activities. The surface is steep and rocky both uphill and downhill, hence not wheelchair accessible. Family and children are best suited to hike Elk Mountain to Maiden Peak, but dogs are not allowed. At an elevation gain of 1,371 feet, the trail is rated moderate in terms of difficulty. Elk Mountain to Maiden Peak is best used from April to October. Bring drinking water since melted snow is not reliable.
