Situated at the centre of Beacon Rock State Park, Don’s Cut-off Trail is a smooth, well-designed single-track and moderately difficult point-to-point trail which winds through typical PNW ferns and forest. Since this is not a multi-use trail, horses are not allowed on this trail. The trail climbs a fair amount in comparison to its length. Dogs are welcomed, so long as they are leashed. While the Don's Cut-off Trail offers no breathtaking view of the surrounding, it ends beneath the Hamilton Mountain Shoulder, where hikers will get a picturesque view of the Table Mountain, Gorge, Hood, and Adams. Always carry lots of water and food with you. You can also opt to treat the water from streams before consumption.
