The Cosley Lake Cutoff Trail is a moderately trafficked point-to-point trail used primarily for hiking and bird watching. The trail is endowed with a beautiful river and mesmerizing waterfalls. It takes about 1.5 hours to hike the 2.17-mile-long trail which has an elevation gain of 390 feet. The Cosley Lake Cutoff Trail is rated moderate in terms of difficulty making it kid-friendly. Deer, mountain goats, moose, bighorn sheep, and bears are common on the Cosley Lake Cutoff Trail. For this reason, hikers are advised to carry a bear spray. Vesper sparrows and chickadees are the most common birds on this path, while arnica flowers are scattered on the best part of the trail. There are no restrooms on the Cosley Lake Cutoff Trail and users of this trail ought to carry their drinking water.
