The Cascade Falls trail is a 3-mile, moderately trafficked, out-and-back trail within the Moran State Park. The trail is best used between the month of May to September for activities such as camping, hiking, nature walks and bird viewing. At the highest sections of the Cascade Falls Trail, hikers will get to enjoy panoramic views of Lake Emerald and Lake Tahoe. Hikers pass through Cascade Creek and the Pine Mountain on their way to the trail. While dogs are allowed on the Cascade Falls Trail, they should always be on a leash. Drinking water may be obtained from natural water sources along the trail, however, hikers should make a point of treating the water. A Discover Pass is needed to access the trail.
