The Burroughs Mountain trail is a 9-mile, loop trail located within the Mount Rainier Area, Washington. Being a multi-use trail, it is mostly used for backpacking, camping, running, nature walks and bird watching. Since the Burroughs Mountain Trail is seasonal, it is best used from March to October. Due to the extreme climatic conditions of the Mountain Rainier Area, the Burroughs Mountain Trail has little-to-no plant life. Mountain goats, chipmunk, marmots and pika are among some of the wild animals that hikers should expect to encounter along the trail. It is important to note that dogs are not allowed on the Boroughs Mountain trail. To access the Boroughs Mountain Trail, hikers will have to obtain a National Park pass. While hikers may get drinking water from nearby streams, they should remember to treat the water first before drinking.
