An easy, short, and single track point-to-point trail, the Blacktail Pond Spur Trail is located in Northwestern Wyoming, near Yellowstone National Park. Blacktail Ponds Spur trail is 2.3 miles with an elevation gain of 272 feet and a spur surface. Lightly trafficked, and often used by fishermen, the Blacktail Pond Spur is home to fishing, camping and hiking. This trail provides wonderful views to the Blacktail pond and a lake. Mountain bikes and dogs are, however, not allowed on the trail. Don’t try to reach the lake without waterproof boots, because it is surrounded by wet, spongy ground, but remember to carry your own water.
