The Anacortes Community Forest Lands-Whistle Lake is a 4-mile loop trail found near Puget Sound and Whidbey Island. Being a lightly trafficked trail, the Anacortes Community Forest Lands-Whistle Lake trail is best used for hiking, bird viewing, and nature walks. A variety of indigenous plants such as spring flowers, Douglas fir, Oregon fawn lily, fritillaria, cedar, bracts, and skunk cabbage are quite common along the trail. From the highest sections of the trail, hikers will get to enjoy breathtaking views of Fidalgo Island, Heart Lake and Mount Erie. Hikers pass through Cranberry Lake and Alexander Beach on their way to the trail. Dogs on leash are allowed on the trail. Hikers should remember to carry plenty of drinking water when visiting the trail.
