West Thumb Geyser Basin Trail is a 0.6-mile, heavily trafficked loop trail located in the southeastern part of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The trail can be accessed any time of the day for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching, preferably in summer and fall. The trail is rated easy with an elevation gain of only 59 feet, making is very family friendly. The West Thumb Geyser Trail affords amazing views of wildlife, wildflowers, colorful hot springs and dormant lakeshore geysers situated on the scenic shores of Yellowstone Lake. Be sure to stay on the boardwalks at all times.
