The Sourdough / Pierce Mountain Trail is a 10-mile, out-and-back trail located in Washington. For those willing to endure the strenuous hike, there is a variety of activity options to choose from, including hiking and camping. Overnight camping requires a backcountry permit. Leashed pets are only allowed at Ross Lake Recreational Area. Because of its strenuous terrain, the Sourdough/Pierce Mountain is the perfect destination for the most experienced hikers. The Sourdough/Pierce Mountain Trail has a dense forest cover and a rocky lookout site with amazing views of lakes, peaks, and glaciers. This trail is accessible in all seasons though it is advisable to take this trip during summer. It is advisable to bring some extra drinking water and water filters with you because there is only one source of water along the trail. There are no parking fees for this trail.
