St. Mary Lake Trail is a lightly trafficked, 24.1-mile-long trail. It is rated moderate in terms of difficulty with an elevation gain of 2,706 feet. Hikers get an incredible view of the forest, lake, river, wildflowers, and wildlife. St. Mary Lake Trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, walking, and backpacking. It is a family-friendly trail, but no dogs are allowed. There is available parking and restrooms. Hikers are required to carry their drinking water.
