The Rising Sun Trail is a moderately trafficked, point-to-point trail used for hiking, running and walking. It takes about 45 minutes to hike the 0.6 mile-long trail that has an elevation gain of 7 feet. The trail is rated as easy and can be used by people of all skills including kids. Dogs and pets are not permitted on this trail. The fall colors on the Rising Sun Trail are spectacular accompanied by a beautiful lake. Cotton woods and flowers of all kinds grace the Rising Sun Trail. Bears are the most common animals on this trail, so users are advised to carry a can of bear spray. The Rising Sun Trail is accessible all year round.
