The Piegan Pass Trail is a moderately trafficked, point-to-point trail used mainly for hiking and nature trips. The 9.2-mile-long trail is rated strenuous with an elevation gain of 1,850 feet, making it not kid-friendly. Dogs are not allowed on the trail. There are no restrooms on the Piegan Pass Trail and hikers ought to carry their own drinking water. The Piegan Pass Trail gives hikers a spectacular view of Mount Cataract and Mount Piegan. Mountain goats, ptarmigan, mule deer, black bears, and grizzly bears are very often on the trail, so hikers are advised to carry a bear spray. The Piegan Pass Trail is open throughout the year.
