The 1-mile trail has an elevation gain of 78.7 feet and is rated easy in terms of difficulty. Kids can use the McDonald Trail as long as they are in the company of their guardians. The McDonald Horse Trail is located in bear territory and bears can be spotted once in a while, so users are advised to carry a can of bear spray. There are no drinking water points or restrooms on the McDonald Horse Trail. The Trail is accessible all year round.
