The Feather Plume Cutoff Trail is a kid-friendly, moderately trafficked, point-to-point trail used for hiking, birding and running. It is open year round. The trail is rated moderate in terms of difficulty with a length of 1.18 miles, mixed surface, and an elevation gain of 269 feet. Dogs are not permitted on the Feather Plume Cutoff Trail. The main and notable aspects of this trail are a creek, a lake, and waterfalls. There are several beautiful wildflowers scattered along the Feather Plume Cutoff Trail like columbine, spiral, huckleberries, and thimbleberries. Bears, moose, and dear are very common on this trail, and hikers are advised to carry a bear spray. There are no restrooms or drinking water points so hikers ought to carry their own drinking water. Birds like wrens, chickadee, and vesper sparrows can be spotted on the Feather Plume Cutoff Trail.
