Located in the northern range of Yellowstone National Park, the Blacktail Creek Tail is a 7.4-mile lightly trafficked out-and-back trail. It features meadows full of grass, sagebush, ponds, rivers, lakes, and fantastic views of waterfalls, wildflowers, mountains, and wildlife. The Blacktail Deer Creek Trail is rated intermediate in terms of difficulty due to its elevation gain of 1,246 feet. Enjoy activity options on the trail like fishing, bird watching, horseback riding, and hiking with the family, kids included. However, dogs are not allowed on the trail. Bring drinking water or carry a filter for use with the river or lake water.
