Bar Island Trail is a 1.8–mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located bear Bar Harbor, Maine. This kid-friendly trail is rated easy in terms of difficulty and has an elevation gain of 160 feet. Dogs are allowed on the trail so long as they are leashed. The Bar Island Trail is used for fishing, hiking, nature trips, walking, running, and bird watching. The trail opens up to stunning views of wildflowers, wildlife, beach, and fantastic view of Bar Harbor at the island end of the trail. While this is a short and easy hike, the Bar Island Trail is only accessible at times of low tide, from spring through fall.
